Kepoikai means “Crest of the Wave” in the Hawaiian language. Captain Don Lipton designed and built the Kepoikai II in 1977 with a vision about creating the best catamaran experience in Waikiki. His legacy lives on with the Aloha of Captain Jay and Biggie as well as the entire crew. Embark on our authentic Waikiki Beach sail experience, filled with beauitful views, friends, o’hana and a whole lot of ALOHA!
Kepoikai II is our boat and it is marked with our signature blue and white sails. These legendary sails have been featured in calendars, magazines, books, artwork, postcards, and even television shows. You can find us located right on the sand in front of Duke’s Waikiki Beach.
We sail with Aloha and will make your sail as memorable as the Islands. Kepoikai II is a United States Coast Guard certified vessel that holds up to 37 passengers and 4 Crew. It is regularly inspected by the USCG to maintain the highest level of operational standards set forth by the State of Hawaii and the U.S. Coast Guard.

To Our Friends & Ohana,
As the wildfire relief effort continues to impact our ohana in Lahaina, Maui, we wanted to take this opportunity to raise awareness and funds for those affected by the devastation that took place in early August 2023.
Our friends and ohana in Maui are hurting! At least 2,700 structures have been damaged or completely destroyed, many individuals have perished, thousands have been evacuated to temporary shelters, and hundreds of families and small businesses have been directly impacted by the catastrophic wildfires on Maui.
Our hearts go out to the many families and friends who have been directly impacted by the Maui wildfires and we praise the first responders for their valiant efforts.
Starting September 1st, 2023, we will be donating $1 for every passenger we take out on Kepoikai II. We’re also going to be collecting donations from our friends and ohana to help those in need. We plan to be 100% transparent about the funds we’re donating and where they are being donated. We’ve decided that we want to make sure our donations are going to small organizations and businesses that were directly impacted by the fires. Each month we will be donating to a new cause so that we can help as many people as possible.
Below is a breakdown of the organizations that we plan to donate to through the end of the year:
Sept. 2023 – Maui Strong Fund
Oct. 2023 – Maui Humane Society
Nov. 2023 – The Maui County First Responder Relief Fund
Dec. 2023 – Extended Horizons
Every little bit helps and as part of the Catamaran Kepoikai II ohana, we are so grateful for your compassion and generosity as we work together towards helping those who lost everything!
